Right to Repair: what changes in Europe
The EU Right to Repair Directive (EU) 2024/1799 applies in the Member States from 31 July 2026. Manufacturers of products such as washing machines, fridges and phones must offer repair beyond the legal guarantee at a reasonable price, spare parts must be available, and a European online platform helps people find repairers. If a consumer chooses repair under the legal guarantee, the guarantee is extended by 12 months. Repair Cafés are part of that movement.
