Introduction to the multimeter

The multimeter is the repairer’s stethoscope. Black lead in COM, red lead in V/Ω. Choose what you measure on the dial: DC volts for batteries, the beep for continuity, Ω for resistance — and always measure Ω and continuity with the power off.
